Rolfing

Rolfing is the name given to a body therapy that was developed by biochemist Ida Rolfing. Rolfing’s theory was that the correct position of various body parts will mutually disturbed by external and internal influences. The consequences are muscle tension and hardening favoring postural. With Rolfing not only these adhesions and tear should be healed, but also postural problems that have psychological causes. The patient is treated in 10 sessions with massage and movement work while sitting, standing and lying. The scientific literature is Rolfing but rather critical.
