Light Therapy – Heliotherapy

The light therapy is based on the research by the physician Niels Finsen Rynberg, for which he was awarded the 1903 Nobel Prize. Light therapy uses a replication of daylight, where UV and infrared rays are filtered out. With the color light therapy particularly depression or sleep problems are alleviated (eg shiftworkers ). The patient is treated daily for two weeks with fluorescent tubes with high light intensity, where he keeps an eye-opener. After a few days, the mood of the patients improved markedly and the sleep rhythm is normalized.
